Measurement-based care, the way it’s meant to be

Two Chairs is the only behavioral health provider where 100% of clinicians practice true MBC.

What is measurement-based care?

MBC is an evidence-based approach that involves consistently collecting symptom information from patients, tracking progress over time, and using hard data to help inform treatment. Research proves that properly implemented MBC leads to more effective treatment and faster symptom reduction. And yet, many therapists still prefer to rely on clinical judgement alone over data-driven MBC to guide their care.

There's a right way to do measurement-based care

At Two Chairs, we know that true MBC is more than just collecting data — it requires a care model designed to translate that data into better clinical decisions and clinicians who are properly trained to do so. That’s why we’ve built our model for MBC like no one else in the industry. The result is up to 2.5x better outcomes than standard care2 — our patients feel better, faster and our payer partners see value from their investment.

What others are doing

  • Applying improper protocol or inconsistent approaches to measurement-based care
  • Mislabeling patient data collection as “measurement-based care” in marketing
  • Lacking a shared sense of accountability as assessments and progress check-ins are either optional or not widely enforced

What we do differently

  • Hire MBC-minded clinicians as W-2 employees and provide them with the training and tools to support our approach to care
  • Employ clinical supervisors to coach clinicians and help keep clinical decisions rooted in patient data
  • Streamline measurement collection, interpretation, and more with our Two Chairs Amplify technology

What our clinicians say about MBC

Impactful intervention
I’ve become a sincere convert to the MBC approach. Before this shift at Two Chairs, I found myself leaning toward longer care, mainly with complex presentations in clients I serve. Now, MBC has truly sharpened how and when I deploy my clinical skills, making my interventions more focused and impactful. I didn't expect to be such a firm believer, but the results speak for themselves.

Effective treatment
Every therapist at Two Chairs practices using measurement-based care to help treat our clients more effectively. I really enjoy being able to get into the data and my clients do too, and being able to show them how they’re progressing through treatment means that most of my clients are a lot more comfortable when they're ready for graduation.

Progress tracking
Patients who are at risk for non-response or deterioration in therapy often struggle to identify and articulate their challenges and feelings. Measurement-Based Care (MBC) acts as an alert, flagging clients whose scores indicate they are ‘off track.’ This helps clinicians prioritize evaluation, intervention, and potential crisis planning for those experiencing symptoms.
