About
Sonya
Hi I'm Sonya. I enjoy working with individuals navigating cultural transitions-grappling with identity and belonging, and with survivors of complex trauma and humanitarian disasters. I'm as comfortable processing complex trauma as I am with guiding you through daily stressors that can arise in our family, social and job environments. I meet you where you are at and am a relational therapist. I believe that you have the capacity to heal and will journey with you to uncover your own healing process. Life is hard enough and you don't need to walk it alone. I would be honored to join with you on this journey.
I enjoy long hikes on the weekend, running (and currently thinking about my next half-marathon) and just being in nature. I enjoy reading both for pleasure and to expand my own knowledge. I am a travel enthusiast and enjoy getting out of my own comfort zone. I spent my childhood outside of my passport country (USA) and am an (Adult) Third Culture Kid (ATCK) so I absolutely understand what it means to belong everywhere and nowhere. I am a cis-gendered, white-identified woman. I recognize the privileges that come with this and am on a daily journey to understand the place I take up in the world and making more space for others.
