About
Scott (Walter)
Hi, I am Scott Dilk, I specialized in trauma recovery, depression and anxiety.
I am a licensed mental health therapist in the state of Washington. I have been in the mental
health field for over fifteen years and have been a mental health counselor for over ten. My
early career helped me develop a calm reassurance during crisis, but I have dedicated training
and attention in recent years to trauma recovery. This includes EMDR, but I am also skilled at
Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment
Therapy. With this training and understanding, I am able to treat a wide range of people and
difficulties.
One of my main philosophies of therapy is described in a metaphor. Therapy is an economy and
trust is the currency. This leads me to be attentive to the whole person. It also is a personal
style of therapy even when doing EMDR. How can you trust someone that is not authentic
themselves? We will become partners in your well being.
The main thing that I want to create is a sense of safety in sessions that lead to client's better
understanding of themselves. The client would then be able to generalize some of the things
learned in session to broader life outside the session. This is true regardless of the reasons the
client comes to therapy whether it is trauma, depression or anxiety or the many other
difficulties I have helped clients resolve.
I love enjoying time with my family and friends. I often play table top games and enjoy moves and shows. I like to play with my dog Dabi. I am a creative person and enjoy making art. This creative process often includes painting and bookbinding. I am also an avid cyclist.
