About
Poiab
I’m motivated by helping people feel understood—not shamed or judged. I believe people make sense when we consider what they have lived through, the relationships and systems around them, and the ways they have learned to cope and survive. I also believe therapy can help people reconnect with themselves and move toward a life that feels more honest, meaningful, and aligned. My style is warm, direct, thoughtful, and collaborative. I listen closely, ask questions that help deepen understanding, and gently challenge patterns that may be pulling you away from yourself or from the life you want to build. I believe therapy should be practical as well as reflective. Together, we can build clarity, strengthen the ways you care for yourself, and identify changes that feel realistic, meaningful, and true to who you are. I do not see people as a diagnosis. I see the whole person—their history, relationships, strengths, struggles, and all the parts of them that are still growing and changing.
In my free time, I value quiet space to recharge. I enjoy reading, journaling, self-reflection, and taking walks outside when the weather is cool. I also enjoy connecting with friends and family over coffee, brunch, or a good conversation. I am a Hmong American woman and the second-generation daughter of refugees. My cultural background has deeply shaped how I understand identity, family expectations, resilience, belonging, and the challenge of creating boundaries within systems that may expect us to prioritize tradition, obligation, or other people’s needs over our own. I understand what it can mean to question inherited expectations, break generational patterns, and choose a life that feels more aligned—even when that choice may disappoint family, culture, or society. This perspective helps me connect with people who are learning to trust themselves, define their own values, and build a life that feels more honest and true to who they are.
