About
Pauline
Hello, my name is Dr. Pauline Waweru. I am a licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years' experience in both Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment, having worked in various community, organization, hospital, and psychiatric settings.
Through a collaborative relationship, I will support you to explore and dispel fear, overcome anxiety, regain confidence, establish self-control, and deal with loss and negativity. I am committed to providing you with a warm, supportive, and therapeutic environment while allowing you to explore your strengths and challenges!
I work with both adults and adolescents. I use various evidence-based approaches based on the unique needs of the individual and specialize in a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transition issues, and traumatic experiences. Using therapy techniques like CBT, Interpersonal Therapy, DBT, ACT, mindfulness and motivational interviewing, I am committed to providing a supportive and therapeutic environment while allowing you to explore your strengths and possibilities.
My commitment to you as my client is to offer and engage in open communication that is tailored to create a safe, productive and non-judgmental space. Through my experience and strength in active listening, I will allow you an opportunity to reflect on your experiences while allowing you to explore your strengths and challenges. My goal is to provide you with constructive feedback and to help you explore and identify your areas of growth in a supportive and therapeutic way.
I enjoy spending traveling and spending time with my family. I also love taking intentional walks in my neighborhood and hiking with my family and friends. I am also involved in church and enjoy volunteering with the youth ministry. I also enjoy spending time with my friends as we recharge by taking road trips and cabin retreats.
