About
Monique
Hi! My name is Monique Brando. I have a lot of passion for helping people who've felt hopeless about their lives getting just a little bit better. By the time most people come to therapy, they have tried their best to address and/or solve their concerns many times over, even if that means ignoring it. It requires both strength and vulnerability to acknowledge we have " blind spots" that another person can help you with. It becomes an honor when a client decides to take that journey with me. I would describe my style as warm, eclectic, meaning that I draw from more than one treatment model to help my clients reach their goals. I like to start with moving at a client's pace, while also keeping in mind that at some point a gentle push via more directives is imperative to growth and progress.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my teenage daughter. I feel lucky I have the opportunity to spend more time with her as a WFH parent. Other things I enjoy doing is going for a casual walk around my neighborhood or lift weights on gym days. I am Mexican American, so the Mexican culture comprises a big part of who I am. I love to eat Mexican food when I'm not in the mood to cook. I also love dancing to Spanish music and embracing my roots.
