About
Monica
I like to collaborate with clients to assist them with overcoming their challenges. My approach is strength based and trauma informed. I also like to explore overall wellness with clients including physical and emotional health and well-being.
I typically use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and solutions focused approaches in sessions. I like to explore mindfulness, grounding, and other methods to assist you with developing the tools you need to succeed.
I really enjoy working with those during the pregnancy and postpartum period, in addition to those experiencing role transitions.
I was raised in a Christian household and grew up active in church. My father's family came from Nigeria and my mother's family had been in America for several generations. I have Cherokee ancestry on my mother's side.
I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, being in nature and going on long walks with my dog. I live in Chicago and take advantage of the many activities during warm weather and enjoy some of the cultural events.
My favorite events are the Chicago Blues and Gospel festivals, and the movies in the park events. I enjoy spending time in nature and viewing the Chicago skyline.
