About
Melissa
I became a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner because I believe everyone deserves compassionate, respectful, and evidence-based mental health care. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to participate in their treatment decisions.
My practice style is collaborative, patient-centered, and holistic. I recognize that each person's experiences, strengths, and challenges are unique, so I tailor treatment plans to meet individual needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I combine thoughtful medication management with supportive counseling, psychoeducation, and lifestyle recommendations to promote long-term wellness.
I value building trusting relationships with my clients and strive to help them better understand their mental health while working toward meaningful, lasting improvements in their quality of life. Whether someone is seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, mood disorders, or life transitions, I am committed to providing care that is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and grounded in the latest evidence-based practices.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, staying active, and finding opportunities to recharge. I appreciate being outdoors, exploring new places, reading, and practicing self-care to maintain balance in my own life. I also enjoy lifelong learning and staying current with advances in mental health so I can continue providing the best care to my patients.
I believe maintaining a healthy work-life balance is important, and I encourage my clients to find activities that bring them joy, reduce stress, and support their overall well-being.

education and experience
- I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with experience providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individualized treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions at Reclamation Center. In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as a Mental Health Professor at Sunrise School of Nursing, where I educate and mentor future nurses in evidence-based psychiatric care. My combined experience as both a clinician and educator allows me to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while staying current with the latest advances in mental health treatment.
