About
Mechelle
I tend to be serious when needed but definitely try to bring humor into my sessions when appropriate. I pay attention to detail, so I am very attuned to my clients and how they are feeling. Emotions come quickly, so it is important to be able to seamlessly connect with how my clients are doing. I place great importance on empowering clients, so I put a strong emphasis on identifying their own power to change into who they wish to be.
In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my dog Jackson and my three grandchildren, and watching sappy movies. I enjoys making others laugh, so I am not afraid to be silly. I have a strong faith and consider myself to be a "follower of Christ". However, I do not impose my beliefs on anyone, professionally or personally. I am a "Christian who is a therapist"; I am not a "Christian Therapist". It is important to meet my clients where they are and support them in who they are. I am a straight black woman but I am not confined to my identity. I believe "human beings" live their lives on a continuum and there are many facets to who a person is; which is the beauty of "being human".
