About
Mary
Hi, I’m Mary. I have been working as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 10+ years. My goal is to understand and help my clients work towards the change that is most important to them during our time together.
I work with my clients from a strengths-based approach, incorporating therapeutic modalities such as motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, family-therapy models, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, emotionally focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.I strive to create a safe, supportive and open environment that allows clients to bring their full selves into the therapy room and to freely provide feedback about their experience with me.
I have the capacity to sit with my clients in very difficult times as well I enjoy bringing some levity and humor to our time together. I work to create a weekly therapy structure and framework that feels beneficial and productive so that my clients feel like they are moving in the direction that they want to be going.
At Two Chairs we use a more time limited therapy model which I greatly believe in. I was trained in and I have used time limited therapy consistently and with great success over the past 10+ years working with clients.
In my time outside of work you can find me doing the day to day activities of family life. I enjoy sitting in my rocking chair on my front porch drinking coffee and watching the birds. I’m also a fan of British Murder Mysteries and naps.
