Lara Benefield

I'm a bilingual (English, Tagalog/Filipino) hybrid therapist at Two Chairs in San Francisco. I became a therapist because I've known what it's like to find hope in therapy when life feels hard and confusing. I want to provide you with the same kind of space that helped me see more clearly and move forward with more confidence. In our therapy, we will be curious together about your struggles. I've found that curiosity is often rewarded with understanding that helps lighten our burdens. In our sessions, we will pursue whatever contributes to lightness, including humor and imagination. I'm a certified EMDR therapist and an IFS therapist (Level 1-trained), and I use IFS and EMDR as a therapeutic frame. Since these modalities can be practiced in different ways, you and I will collaborate on an approach that works best for you.
