About
Kylo
I believe therapy should be both supportive and practical — warm, direct, collaborative, and solution-focused. I try to meet people where they are, adjusting to what’s useful for you rather than running everyone through the same playbook. My work is also informed by somatic, body-based approaches — paying attention to what’s happening in the body, not just the thoughts. I enjoy helping people understand themselves, navigate relationships, manage anxiety and depression, and make changes that align with their values. My background in homelessness services, community mental health, and hospital social work has shaped a trauma-informed approach and a real respect for how people survive, adapt, and grow. I work best with people who are curious, reflective, and ready to engage in change. I have a special interest in helping men better understand and express their emotions and build healthier connections. As a Black and Filipino clinician, I’m passionate about supporting people from diverse cultural backgrounds and creating space for conversations about identity, belonging, and healing. I also enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, adults navigating ADHD, and people exploring dating and relationships. I bring a sex-positive, nonjudgmental approach to this work.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants, audiobooks, anime, and live performances ranging from theater and opera to concerts and cultural events. I value authenticity, humor, curiosity, and meaningful connection, and I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable showing up exactly as they are.
