About
Karina
Hello! My name is Karina and I’m glad you’re here! I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of California, and have been practicing for the past ten years, serving both English and Spanish speaking clients. My experience began in community mental health, serving children, adolescents, adults, and families. The early years of my career were centered around supporting survivors of domestic violence. I later transitioned into the school sector, as an on-campus therapist for adolescents. These populations continue to be close to my heart. Accessibility to quality mental health services was one of the values that first drew me to Two Chairs. My time here has allowed me to increase my reach through virtual therapy sessions. I appreciate the opportunity to continue meeting with clients in person as well, for those local to the Los Angeles area. My approach is collaborative, with a combination of structure to keep us on track towards what’s most important to you, and an open space to share safely, and keep us connected to the present moment. Some of the presenting concerns I help treat include navigating life transitions, grief, anxiety, depression, burnout, work stress, and complex relational dynamics. I strive to connect as humans first, followed by our plan of action. I am open to answer additional questions that you may have.
Outside of the therapeutic space, I value my time with friends and family. I am also a dutiful aunt. Good coffee, traveling, photography, reading, and time in nature bring me joy.
