About
Jennifer
Hi, I'm Jennifer. I'm glad you're here. As a therapist, my approach varies by client according to your needs and goals. We begin by talking about self-care so you can feel better right away. Then we look at barriers keeping you from feeling good, including how you speak to yourself and things in your environment holding you back. I work primarily with women who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and self-esteem. As an identity-based therapist, I often find myself working with women who identify as neurodivergent. I help you figure out where you are on your healing path so you can let go of limiting beliefs and rewrite a new narrative. My communication style is affirming, personable, non-judgmental, and direct. I also often use humor in my work because laughter helps us heal. My goal is to create a comfortable and safe environment where you can be free to be who you are. At its core, therapy is about change. For most of us, change is hard and takes time. We'll work together to create positive changes as quickly as possible in a safe environment without feeling hurried or rushed. Together, we'll define the problem so you can begin to create your own personal blueprint for growth. Making the choice to begin therapy is a brave step toward being who you want to become. I will ask you what brought you to therapy, what your most distressing symptoms are, and how long this has been happening. We'll talk about your history, including childhood, relationships, living situation, and career.
The path to becoming a therapist started with a deep desire to understand myself. As a neurodivergent woman, my healing journey has been hard-earned. Being a therapist is about paying my experience forward so that your path is perhaps a bit easier. I get great joy from helping my clients reach their goals. I enjoy spending time with my pets, reading, cooking and learning for the sake of learning. If I could, I would be a professional student. I identify with the body positive community and find joy in spirituality, laughter and art. In my spare time, you can probably find me listening to a podcast or audiobook or going down a rabbit hole learning about my most recent special interest.
