About
Jay
Greetings, and welcome! I'm so glad you're considering making your mental wellness a priority. My name is Jay, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about helping adults create meaningful, lasting change. I work best with adults ages 25 and older who are motivated to grow, willing to engage in the therapeutic process, and ready to move from feeling stuck to taking intentional steps toward the life they want. Whether you're navigating stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, emotional wounds, major life transitions, low self-esteem, burnout, or difficulties balancing the demands of everyday life, I provide a structured, collaborative space where we can identify what is getting in the way and develop practical strategies for moving forward. My approach is solution-oriented while honoring the importance of understanding your story and experiences. I blend psychoeducation with evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and other clinically appropriate interventions to help you build insight, strengthen coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and increase confidence in your ability to navigate life's challenges. I believe therapy should be an active partnership, and I work alongside you to develop realistic goals, celebrate progress, and create sustainable change rather than simply managing symptoms. Clients often describe me as warm, genuine, compassionate, and direct in a way that feels encouraging rather than judgmental. I strive to provide a supportive environment where you feel heard while also offering the gentle accountability needed to help you recognize your strengths, challenge unhelpful patterns, and put new skills into practice. If you're looking for a therapist who will meet you where you are while helping you move toward greater clarity, balance, and purpose, I'd be honored to walk alongside you. The time to invest in yourself is now.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy embracing the simple moments that keep me connected to what matters most. I am a proud Haitian-Bahamian American and speak Haitian Creole, which allows me to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences. I'm also the grateful parent of two amazing children, and I deeply cherish spending quality time with my family and loved ones. I have a natural curiosity about people, personal growth, and the human experience, so you'll often find me exploring new ideas, engaging in self-reflection, practicing meditation, or learning something that challenges me to become an even better version of myself. One reminder I return to often and one that influences both my life and my work is: Honor being "human first". I believe that growth doesn't require perfection; it requires curiosity, compassion, and the willingness to keep showing up.
