About
Ian
Hi, I'm Ian! Over the last eight years, I've supported clients navigating concerns ranging from low mood, excessive worry, inattention, and grief to relationship, parenting, and career challenges, as well as complex trauma. It is important to me to work alongside my clients to develop a therapeutic relationship, foster motivation, and identify their strengths and values to overcome challenges. I believe that clients are the experts of their own experiences and that, collaboratively, we can improve their thinking, behaviors, emotional expression, and outlook. I approach therapy with a strong relational focus grounded in trust, nonjudgment, empathy, and optimism. I meet every client with warmth, curiosity, and authenticity. I find fulfillment in helping them heal from the past, increase resilience in the present, and improve their outlook on the future.
In my spare time, I enjoy connecting with my family, friends, community, and the outdoors. I love exploring nature in any season by car camping, paddleboarding, hiking, biking, running, skiing, or snowshoeing. I also enjoy rooting for my favorite teams, relaxing with an interesting audiobook or movie, meditating in a float tank, engaging in deep conversations, and competitive play, from sports to board, card, and video games. I find joy in deep belly laughs, live concerts, attending sporting events, being a husband and father, supporting survivors of suicide loss, and living in beautiful Sacramento.
