About
Maria
Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, especially when you're already carrying a heavy emotional burden. You may be wondering: Do I have a support system? Has my sleep, physical activity, or diet changed? How would I rate my current stress level? Am I constantly struggling to maintain hope because of unresolved grief or loss? These are important questions, and you don't have to answer them alone. As a psychotherapist, I believe that healing begins with a trusting therapeutic relationship. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based. Together, we will develop realistic, attainable goals that support your emotional, social, and spiritual well-being while building the skills you need to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence. My mission is to empower you to heal, grow, and create lasting positive change. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, chronic stress, or a major life transition, I provide a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and respected.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I make it a priority to nurture the same sense of balance and well-being that I encourage in my clients. Spending quality time with the people I love is one of life's greatest gifts. Music has always been an important part of my life. I enjoy attending concerts and musicals across a variety of genres, and I love playing the saxophone, harmonica, ukulele, and piano. Music is not only a source of joy for me but also a meaningful way to connect, reflect, and recharge. One of my favorite lifelong pursuits is learning languages - I enjoy studying and practicing French, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Afrikaans in learning environments. Exploring different languages and cultures broadens my perspective and deepens my appreciation for the diversity of the people and communities I serve. I also enjoy practicing mindfulness, reading, researching societal issues, and exploring topics related to spirituality. I enjoy staying physically active, spending time outdoors, camping, breathing in fresh air, and taking in the beauty of nature. This helps me stay grounded. Whenever the opportunity arises, I also love to travel and experience new places, people, and cultures. I believe therapists should model the importance of self-care and lifelong learning. Prioritizing balance, meaningful relationships, and personal growth allows me to bring compassion, presence, and authenticity to every session. I also regularly pursue continuing education to stay current with evidence-based practices, ensuring I provide the highest quality care for the individuals I have the privilege of serving.
