About
David
My name is David Mossaband, and I believe that therapy should be a place where you feel safe, understood, and empowered. My work is grounded in helping people build a stronger sense of control, confidence, and trust in themselves. Many of the people I work with feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, self-doubt, anxiety, or relationship struggles. Rather than focusing only on changing thoughts, I help clients better understand their emotions, reconnect with their bodies, and develop practical ways to respond to life's challenges.
I am especially interested in themes of power, control, safety, and trust. I believe that when people feel safe, both within themselves and in their relationships, they are better able to make choices that align with their values and goals. Together, we explore the ways past experiences may still be influencing the present while building tools that support lasting change.
My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and mindfulness-based. I draw from several therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic therapy, somatic work, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Strategic Family Therapy. I also work with the nervous system to help clients recognize how stress, anxiety, and difficult experiences (trauma) can affect both the mind and body. My goal is to help clients move beyond simply understanding their struggles intellectually and toward experiencing meaningful change emotionally and physically.
I view therapy as a collaborative process. Rather than telling clients what to do, I work alongside them to better understand their experiences, identify their strengths, and create a path forward that feels authentic and sustainable.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, exploring new places, staying active, and continuing to learn about psychology, relationships, and personal growth. I value curiosity, connection, and balance, and I strive to bring those same qualities into my work with clients. I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported, and I consider it a privilege to be part of that process.
