About
Colleen
I am driven by the belief that there is no "one way" to do therapy. Communication styles that work well for one person, may not suit another. My mission is to create a space where you are truly seen and met exactly where you are. If you need practical strategies and tools to help change unwanted thought patterns, unhealthy behaviors, or manage intense emotions, we can do that. If you want to look at the stories you tell yourself or how your past impacts the present we can do that. If you want to use art, writing, and creativity to express what words can’t capture, or just sit quietly in self-reflection, we will collaborate to use whatever works best for you. I am often described as having a calm, comforting, and steady energy, mixed with a natural sense of humor that helps build the relationship and ease the heavy moments. While I am a deep, active listener, I’m not just a passive observer. I will ask you direct questions, offer feedback, and gently challenge you when you are ready to grow.
I consider myself a creative, a thinker, a doer, and an animal lover. I have 2 dogs and a cat who might occasionally make an appearance in session (apologies in advance). In my spare time I volunteer with an animal sanctuary and for local LGBTQIA2S+ organizations. I enjoy playing games in the evenings with my partner, family, and friends or doing creative art projects with paint, collage, and mixed media. My favorite summer day would include kayaking and soaking up the sun and my favorite winter day would be curling up with a good novel.
