About
Chisako
It takes courage to reach out for support. With warmth, compassion, and respect, I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. My goal is to help you reconnect with your strengths, resilience, and inner wisdom as you navigate life’s challenges and move toward meaningful growth and healing. Originally from Japan, I deeply value cross-cultural understanding and appreciate the richness that comes from each person’s unique story, identity, and lived experience. For more than 20 years, I have supported adults, children, and families through a wide range of life transitions and challenges. My experience spans both community-based and healthcare settings, with a primary background in hospice and palliative care, where I had the privilege of supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most vulnerable moments with empathy, presence, and dignity. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and non-pathologizing. I believe that healing begins within a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel accepted and empowered. Drawing from cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, and person-centered approaches, I tailor therapy to your unique needs, values, and goals.
Outside of my work, I enjoy traveling, experiencing different cultures, spending time in nature, hiking, camping, and observing wildlife. I am drawn to contemplative and meditative practices and cherish quality time with my husband, our pup, friends, and family. It brings much joy learning about environmental and marine conservation and I volunteer with local organizations dedicated to protecting the natural world. Contributing in ways that align with my values helps me cultivate hope and a sense of connection to the larger community.
