About
Benjamin
I have worked with youth and families since 2007 - clinically since 2012. Much of my focus is on depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma-stressors, men's issues, and parenting dynamics. As is common, times are stressful now. There is significant volatility leading to anxiousness, depression, and broad ongoing uncertainty. This makes it exceedingly difficult to meet our fundamental needs. I practice from an integrative approach; Reality Therapy/Choice Theory (similar to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - CBT), Gestalt Therapy (awareness building), and Trauma-Informed Care model. I focus on unmet needs and resulting distress, as well as body regulation, self-validation skills, evaluating thinking and behavioral patterns.
I like to get outside with my family. We get into the woods and up in the mountains; hiking, biking, skateboarding, snowboarding, on and on. 🙂 I like to volunteer doing trail building and environmental conservancy, when and where I can. When the days grow short and night long, we get into a variety of tabletop games, “arting,” wrenching on a thing or few, and try to woodwork a bit.
