About
Amanda
For the past 14 years, I have had the privilege of working with underserved communities, supporting individuals living with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Throughout my career, I have worked alongside people from diverse backgrounds, including racial and ethnic minorities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and justice-involved populations. This work has been one of the greatest joys of my life because I believe everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and given the opportunity to heal, regardless of their circumstances. I believe that people are more than their diagnosis, addiction, past experiences, or current circumstances. Every person has strengths, even when they cannot always see them themselves, and I consider it a privilege to help clients rediscover hope, recognize their resilience, and build a life that reflects their values. I take a person-centered, collaborative approach to therapy, creating a safe and supportive space where clients can deepen their self-understanding and feel accepted for who they are. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, build healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change. I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, work-related stress, substance use, and identity-related concerns. What I find most fulfilling is helping clients find light during times when they may feel lost or believe change is no longer possible. It is an honor to walk alongside my clients as they gain insight, build resilience and confidence, and create a life that reflects their values and the person they want to become.
When I'm not working, you'll usually find me outside enjoying the sunshine or exploring somewhere new. I love trying new restaurants, experiencing foods from different cultures, and learning about the traditions and stories behind them. I'm always excited to learn something new, whether it's tackling a DIY project or picking up a new skill. I also enjoy listening to music from all genres and relaxing with a good movie or documentary. Most importantly, I cherish spending quality time with my family and friends, soaking up the outdoors, and appreciating the simple moments that help me recharge.
