About
Lydia
As an eclectic therapist, which means utilizing many different treatment models, my practice is defined by a flexible, individualized approach that integrates multiple evidence-based techniques to meet each client's specific needs. I've been providing treatment for over twenty years. My work emphasizes cultural and LGBTQ sensitivity, therapeutic alliance, and a commitment to helping clients achieve meaningful self-understanding and symptom relief. Key elements of my therapeutic approach include: 1: Eclectic Integration: I draw from a wide range of therapy models—such as Trauma Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family of Origin work, etc—to create cohesive, effective treatment plans. 2: Cultural Competency: A cornerstone of my practice is maintaining cultural awareness, knowledge, and humility. I prioritize understanding a client's specific cultural background, values, and experiences to build trust and ensure treatment is relevant. 3: Therapeutic Relationship: I view the relationship as central to the process, fostering trust through open communication, empathy, and appropriate self-disclosure to help clients feel heard and validated. 4: Brief Treatment Focus: In my work, particularly in brief treatment models, I focus on efficiency and rapid rapport-building. This allows you to address complex issues within a limited time frame. 5: Holistic Growth: My goal is often to help clients peel back layers of their experience, break negative cycles, and develop healthier habits and boundaries, ultimately supporting them in becoming the best version of themselves.
In my spare time, I paint with soft pastels, as well as use other art media; garden; and ride my bike. I recently began exploring plein air painting! I love to enjoy the beautiful Puget Sound, hanging out with my family and playing with my two dogs.
