About
Laura
Hi, I’m Laura, I’ve helped clients at Two Chairs for close to 3 years and worked as a therapist for 13 years. In that time, I’ve helped clients with depression, anxiety, panic disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and ADHD. I enjoy working with clients on self-empowerment, assertiveness and a more mindful approach to life. I believe that self-compassion is an important first step to making changes in our thoughts, feelings and actions/reactions. I use a mix of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindful Self Compassion and Person Centered Therapy in working on change making with clients. I really enjoy helping my clients discover how they want to live their life including understanding what is important to them. I would like for my clients to be able to say when they graduate that they are living a more fulfilling and contented life, in spite of and maybe because of the challenges life throws at them. I naturally include humor in my work and have a laid back approach, using every day language for the most part.
In my free time, I enjoy participating in trivia events, watching movies and TV, and listening to music. I find contentment and happiness in going to concerts, traveling, sewing, crafting, meditating, and laughing with my friends.
